Silica is commonly used as the stationary phase in high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC), and hydrophilic interaction chromatography (HILIC) applications.
Studies have shown that core-type particles are known to achieve higher separation efficiencies than porous particles due to their narrow particle size distributions (PSD). Our high-purity, monodisperse silica works well for chromatography due to the same concept of having narrow PSD, resulting in a higher efficiency and consistency due to bed and flow uniformity. The bed uniformity causes diminished voiding/channeling in the silica bed, leading to longer life and theoretically smaller plate heights.
Our silica particles are surfaced with silanol groups that can be used as is in HILIC or normal phase HPLC stationary phases. We also offer our silica as a raw material to create a non-polar functionalized surface (C18, C8, etc.) for use in reversed phase HPLC. We can accommodate size needs in the large nano-scale and small micron diameters.
